Below are common resolutions we see when signing into Teams Rooms accounts:
- Make sure the resource account is configured correctly

Setting Password never expires is a requirement for shared Microsoft Teams devices. If your organization prohibits passwords that don't expire, you'll need to create an exception for Teams device resource accounts.
4. Disable 2FA for the resource account
Microsoft Teams Rooms do not support 2FA. You may need to exempt the resource accounts from your conditional access policies. See [http://conditional%20access%20for%20teams%20devices/]https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/rooms/conditional-access-and-compliance-for-devices
5. Test the sign in of the Resource Account
Use this tool: Teams Rooms sign in test to test that your Teams Rooms resource account is configured for successful sign on.
Note: Device hardware registers to the resource account it signed in to, in the Teams Admin Centre (TAC). If the hardware is moved to another room resource account, it needs to be unregistered first in TAC to avoid sign-in and permission errors.
The change can take up to 48 hours to update on the device.
Alternatively, delete the old resource account and setup a new one, and factory reset the hardware before signing in for a quicker resolution.
- Common issues with Teams Rooms and Conditional Access policies
Conditional Access is a Microsoft Entra feature that helps make sure that devices that access corporate resources are correctly managed and secured. If Conditional Access policies are applied to the Microsoft Teams service, Android devices that access Teams must comply with the policies. Such devices include Teams phones, Teams displays, Teams panels, and Teams Rooms on Android. Otherwise, Conditional Access will prevent users from signing in to or using the Teams app on the devices.
If these policies are applied, you might experience one or more of the following issues on non-compliant devices:
- The devices can't sign in to Teams, or they get stuck in sign-in loops.
- The devices automatically sign out of Teams randomly.
- Microsoft Teams stops responding (freezes).

3. Preparing for Teams Android Devices moving to AOSP Device Management
Note: Organisations using Teams Rooms Basic licenses or that disable the Intune license on accounts don't enroll their devices in Intune. In that case, there's no need to set up an enrollment profile. Just upgrade devices to the AOSP Device Management capable firmware at release to stay current on firmware.
These steps are specific to Teams Android devices (Teams Rooms on Android, Teams phone, & Teams Panels).
AOSP doesn't support Device Enrollment Manager (DEM) accounts.
A DEM account is a nonadministrator user who can enroll devices in intune. If you want to use an account that is on a DEM list to migrate devices to AOSP, it needs to be removed from the DEM list.
A DEM account is a nonadministrator user who can enroll devices in intune. If you want to use an account that is on a DEM list to migrate devices to AOSP, it needs to be removed from the DEM list.
There are two parts to a successful migration to AOSP Device Management:
- Step 1: Create new enrollment profiles & configuration/compliance policies in Intune. This step can be completed today, even before the firmware updates are available. Performing these steps will have no impact on existing devices but please note that failing to create enrollment profiles before performing step 2 will result in signed out Teams Devices.

- Step 2: Once the AOSP Device Management capable firmware is released in Teams Admin Center, you will need to install the firmware updates for each of the supported Teams Devices. This firmware update will automatically unenroll the device from Device Administrator and re-enroll the device with AOSP Device Management using the enrollment profile created in Step 1. This entire process will be done while the device remains signed into Teams. These firmware updates will be made available from Teams Admin Center as a manual update to allow you time to slowly migrate your devices. Updates will switch to automatic in H1CY25 for those with large quantities of devices.
Step by step guidance on how to complete steps 1 and 2 (as well as guidance for configuration & compliance policies) can be found in the AOSP Device Management migration admin guide.
